David Anthony Wood is a limited licensed mental health counselor and new executive director of Midtown Counseling Services. David graduated from Cornerstone University with a master’s in clinical mental health counseling and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.  He has both inpatient and outpatient experience in the field of mental health which has influenced his ethos of treating the whole person, highlighting the social determinants of one’s mental health and wellbeing. Treating the whole person means addressing a person’s physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, and social factors; The social determinants include social, economic, and environmental conditions that influence a person's mental health. David uses a holistic and integrative approach to counseling, tailoring each approach to the unique needs and goals of the individual client using a variety of evidence-based therapies to guide clients towards lasting change. David has always been passionate about social justice and advocating for ease of access to mental health services. Midtown Counseling Services aims to remove any and all barriers in order for everyone to receive quality professional counseling services.

In his leisure time, David enjoys hiking with his family, fishing with his boys, and road cycling. These activities keep him active and connected to nature and his loved ones.
